General User Training Guide

Super Users should follow the following steps when providing General User training to TRANSCOM users:

  1. Confirm that all TRANSCOM System Requirements are met.
  2. Confirm your General User has met the Personnel Controls screening requirements (TSAR's are ultimately responsible for this action as detailed on the TSAR Responsibilities Form)
  3. Contact the TCC with training dates and times, TCC will set up a test shipment to be used for training. TCC will also post your training session in the training calendar on our Support Site.
  4. Have your users sign the “Sign In” sheet
  5. Present General Users with an overview of the DOE required (Computer Security presentation)
  6.  Present CBT (CBT Course)

To assist with training please provide the following forms to the new users:

  3.   TRANSCOM Training Handout (ICONS)

Final:

  2. Proxy General User exam (TRANSCOM General User Exam)

Once you have completed the training:

TCC will process the training records upon receipt:

  1. Certificates will be created and distributed to the TSAR
  2. The TRANSCOM Support Database will be updated to reflect the new User. (This is used by TCC Help Desk to verify users when they call TCC)
  3. The Appendix C form (Authorization of TRANSCOM Users and Roles) will be created/updated by TCC, forwarded to the TSAR for signature, the TSAR is responsible for adding the “personnel screening date”.  Upon completion this should be returned to TCC.  The form will be maintained in the TRANSCOM Security files.
